‘Preparing for an Ageing Society’ report by . House of Lords’ Economic Affairs Select Committee
The House of Lords’ Economic Affairs Select Committee has published its report ‘Preparing for an Ageing Society’.
The report states that successive governments have failed to focus on the issues raised by demographic change and that the UK is strikingly unprepared for an ageing society.
Raising the State Pension Age isn't enough to tackle rising costs and a shrinking tax base - the Government must create incentives for people in their mid-50s to mid-60s to remain in or return to employment, focus on support for skills, flexible work, and address ageism in the labour market.

The full report can be downloaded from the UK Parliament Committee page.
